Spectromancer, World of Goo at Greenhouse

Been quite a while since my last post.  A lot of stuff ate my time to write posts, but fortunately I was still able to look into a thing or two.  One of those is the stuff at Greenhouse.

I’ve been monitoring Greenhouse the past while for updates regarding Penny Arcade’s OtRSPoD:E2 (it’s supposed to come [...]

The Chrome Pendulum

I actually started writing this post on a Nokia E61i while I was at Italiani’s for dinner.  Unfortunately, WordPress 2.6.1 didn’t seem to play well with Opera Mini 4.1, so I lost what I typed.

No biggie, it wasn’t very long.  I just wanted to say at runtime that, prior to leaveing the house for a [...]

Nomad D&D Log, 2008.08/15

I originally posted these last Wednesday, but my connection must’ve screwed-up and I didn’t have time to to check that the post was a dud.

So, I’m re-posting it now, with some additional stuff.

D&D News

GSL, SRD, Stealth, New Rituals, and DRAGON Editorials – oh my! – Aside from the announcement on the GSL/SRD, There are a [...]

Warcraft III Patch v1.22 Includes Balance Changes

When I tried to play a game of Warcraft 3 on battle.net last night, I ran into a snag when the game started downloading a patch.  I was expecting a bunch of bugfixes, but apparently there were some balance as well.

“BALANCE CHANGES” (copied from Blizzard’s Warcraft III Patch v1.22 at Support Site)

Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition GSL and SRD Released

WotC has released the Game System License and System Reference Document for D&D 4E.  The documents (and any future revisions) can be found (and downloaded) in the Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition Game System License website.

Here’s a “layman’s version” from ENWorld.  There’s also an “unofficial GSL FAQ” in ENWorld, but it’s tough to link to [...]

So what are you waiting for?! DOWNLOAD FIREFOX 3 NOW!!!

Opera 9.5 Released! Firefox 3 on June 17!

Opera 9.5 has gone live!  You can go to their official website and download it now (like what I’m doing as I’m typing this).

Also of great browser importance is the official announcement of Firefox 3′s release date, which is June 17! Spread Firefox is encouraging everyone to download Firefox on release day to help [...]

Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition Out Last Saturday

Well at least it was Saturday in the Philippines, since 2008.06/06 in the US was a Friday. Although I’ve role-played with some friends as a wee-wee-child, I’ve never really role-played D&D. It’s still of great interest to me as a pillar of RPG design, so any evolution it will take will always be of [...]

“The Secret History of Star Wars” (ebook)

I’ll let the author, Michael Kaminski, introduce his free downloadable book in his own words:

The Secret History of Star Wars is a new full-length e-book exploring the writing and creation of the Star Wars saga. Culled from over 400 sources and filled with quotes from people such as George Lucas, Gary Kurtz and Mark Hamill, [...]

Penny Arcade’s “On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One” is Out!

“On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One“…
… whoa! That was a mouthful! Let’s try that again with an acronym…

OtRSPoD:E1 is an episodic game based on Penny Arcade, one of the best/most infamous webcomics to come out of the web. Is the game any good? I have yet to find out. [...]
