Unleashing unrestrained devastation to the unending hordes of beasts and hellions in the surprisingly cavernous, well-lit dungeons of Torchlight, essentially an exercise in gambling for marginally improving stats, while listening to an unending loop of Macross Frontier’s JPOP divas, is utterly engrossing. Sheryll Nome’s encouraging “FAITOs” dare me to press on. “Let me know what you want I will… give you…”, Ranka asks. I want phat lewt! Another pathetic DEF+2 belt?! “What ’bout my star?!”
And whenever you think you really have to go back to the surface to take a breather, your trusty cat/dog companion proves to be quite the salesman and manages to trade your hard fought goods for cash on it’s own. Why would you ever leave?
Utterly engrossing.
Meanwhile, in the surface world, Cliffski decided to give his space battle sim Gratuitous Space Battles a go for launch, Unity Indie goes free, and the Unreal Engine 3 Development Kit (that powers Batman) also decides to be free for non-commercial/educational use.
Cool.
Now, back to looting… <IKINOKORITAI! IKINOKORITAI! Dokun dokun dokun…>
