I managed to try out Street Fighter IV on the PS3 last weekend, and I must say I’m pretty happy with it. I haven’t played it long enough for the negative aspects of the game to start revealing itself to me (maybe check-out David Sirlin’s blog for an idea of possible pitfalls), but so far so good.
I also managed to try out 2 online games, both my opponents were presumably in Japan. The 1st game was laggy, but the second was playable.
Right now, I’m still looking for more opportunities to play so all the flash and awesomeness would settle and I can see the actual gameplay more clearly.
Still, the artwork is amazing, and the peeps at Capcom were nice enough to release their Street Fighter IV “Training Manual” as a free PDF, with lots of art to savor (and then some). You can download it here.
