I swallowed the fact that my SO ain’t around today, so I was somewhat prepared for that problem. I decided to spend some quality time with Hanachi-e during the daytime instead, when just bum around doing miscellaneous stuff at home for the night. Little did I know how that plan would pan out.
Morning was regular enough, woke up late and did a little surfing. Around lunchtime I took Hanachi-e to the vet for her long overdue check-up and some grooming. Turned out that she was due for some shots, good thing I took her to the vet.
When we got back home, I decided to get started on some cleaning chores so that I could just laze away the rest of the evening. As I started changing the sheets, Hanachi-e started gagging and puked. Bad timing (not to mention quite gross), but it’s not her fault if the hairball wanted to go out already. I dropped what I was doing to get some cleaning materials and proceeded to clean-up after her.
Surprisingly, she started gagging and puking again, and again. Now, maybe 2-3 times of this I already expected, but it didn’t stop. In fact, this basically happened continuously every few minutes for about an hour. She was doing this all over the place I could barely keep-up juggling cleaning and calling the vet.
The initial prognosis that Hanachi-e got stressed-out (well, she does get stressed-out rather easily), and it aggravated the situation. I should make sure she gets enough liquids, try to give her some hydrites, and continue to observe things.
Well, Hanachi-e’s settled down now. She hated the Gatoraide and Pocari Sweat I tried to make her drink (she was avoiding it after tasting the things), but she did manage to drink some water. She’s been resting and drinking between naps since she settled down. I’m glad she seems OK (though tired), but I’ll be keeping an eye on her in case things start going wrong.
Dealing with this, and (afterwards) all the dust from the stuff I had to clean, I started getting a headache. I already got some take-out dinner (so I can stay at home and watch over Hanachi-e), and drank a lot of water myself (maybe I’m the one getting dehydrated).
<sigh> What a Heart’s Day. I wish my SO were here to help me out.
