Links to Personally Selected Online News Soon
My friends know (or have already surmised) that I am an information junkie. My daily sustenance is not complete if information is not on the platter. Needless to say, surfing the ‘net for news is practically a daily regimen (surfing for research to augment whatever I’m working on/mulling over is already a given).
In the last few days, I have been sending emails to my friends (ergo, most of you who are actually taking time to read this) containing web links to the items which I personally take note of in my regimen. Occasionally, I include some short comments regarding things that have occupied my mind since the last post, or perhaps a note regarding a particular item I referenced.
Some of my friends who read those emails have mentioned that my daily emailed write-ups might be construed as a valid blog post. The thought has crossed my mind, but I have been reluctant to consider this idea. Perhaps it’s because I feel that merely sharing the links with little commentary is a mere filtration of the hundreds of aggregations on the web albeit one small value-add… this filter reflects who I am. The links I choose to show are based on my interests and what I consider important, the few comments attached are my views.
This got me thinking… why did I write those daily emails? Who actually reads the information I put on those emails? Who reads my blog posts? Why did I start that blog anyway?
In instead of mulling over those questions for an answer, I decided to just go ahead and do my daily email write-ups as a blog post and see how it goes. In my reluctance, I kept asking myself “why.” Perhaps the question I should have been asking is “why not.”
So, starting tomorrow, I’ll try posting my “misc news” here.
